The Boston Parker Omni was the best location we could have had on our first trip to Boston. WE are already talking of going back, taking our children with families and definately staying at the Omni. It was ON THE FREEDOM TRAIL, 1/2 block from boston common, 1/2 block from downtoin crossing. , less than a block from subway, a few short blocks to Quincy market and Fanuil hall. We had so much fun and the staff helped navigate us anywhere we were going. WE arrived earlier than check in, they stored our bags and when we came back to leave our jackets in a half hour our room was ready. They were very accomodating. The front desk was professional and courteous every time we called. They delivered 2 drinks free every morning because we signed up for their special status. IT was all bran new, bedding, carpet, newly remodeled Plush beds. great stay

 by  anonymous  on  2008-04-22

First room looked like someone just got out of the bed. Half empty glass on night stand and dark curly hairs on pillow and tousled sheets. Creepy. Next room very small, but better. They charged extra 10/day to use Internet without my approval. They would not refund. Crooked garage around the block lied about the charges. We stayed Sunday morning to Tuesday morning. We were told Sunday was 10 then 12 for every 12 hours. 2 day bill was 96 and no one could produce itemized bill or explain how they came up with that number. I would not pay more than 200 for this hotel, especially since it's still being renovated.

We had a wonderful experience here! Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the moment we pulled up to the curb! The valet and bell hops were extremely friendly and the front desk staff was warm and welcoming. I just can't say enough good things about our experience at this hotel! We ate in the restaurant the first evening and the food and service were great. We would come back in a heart beat... what a great location, too!

Beautiful old world hotel, complete with extremely friendly and helpful staff; however, showing its age. While our room was lovely, the curtains were dusty and would not close so that we could block out the light. Frankly, they could have used a good cleaning. The beds were nicely made up, but the bed skirt on our bed was completely stained with spilled coffee. The carpet was stained too, and was torn up. Our air/heating unit was on the fritz. My sister-in-law's room had a trick toilet that kept overflowing. We had a full length mirror, but she did not. This is not an inexpensive hotel, and I feel that it should be better maintained, given the cost.

We booked a double and checked ahead with the hotel to be sure of the bedding. When we arrived, we were told that bedding could not be arranged ahead of time!! I slept on a lumpy cot for 4 nights. I was told that because I had a "special rate" (250 per night), they could not give me choice of bedding and would not inconvenience other guests by changing their reservations. Front desk staff turned me down for every request, including frequent flier miles which we were guaranteed by joining their preferred customer club ahead of our stay. I gather that if you don't book directly with the hotel, you go to the bottom of the list. Needless to say, I did not feel valued as a customer. Beware of booking with this hotel unless you call them directly for the reservations and you pay top price. Don't even bother joining their club.

The hotel is going through renovation. The entry carpet and furniture is in need of replacement. It has a dingy atmosphere in the lobby. When you enter the hallway of your floor, it is not air conditioned and the walls are in need of paint. You have to keep telling yourself that this hotel is over 150 years old. We got a good price on our room, only to find out why. We got the standard room. The standard room has a large bathroom, which is nice because there isn't any where else to put your keys or wallet down in the room because this room isn't much bigger than the full size bed in the corner. The bed takes up most of the room. The only other furniture is a chair next to the corner TV stand and a night stand that is about half the size of one at super 8. The phone and light take up the rest of the room on the night stand. In the early evening to the early morning, there are lots and lots of transients that are bumming for money just about a block to the East toward the Quincy Market. On a good note, Quincy Market is awesome, just go North for two or three blocks before taking a right and heading toward the Market in the Morning or Evening. They are gone during the day.
