Absolutely loved this hotel! Rooms seem larger than they are due to floor to ceiling windows and bed placement. Trendy decor. Little accommodation for clothes (hooks only) and no dresser drawers. Adequate room to spread suitcase on floor though. Location is excellent, close to tourist sites, MTBA subway, and downtown nightlife. No bathtub, but usually take shower anyway. Restaurant/bar downstairs nice, but get higher floor due to noise if staying on Fri/Sat. Hotel has club room if you'd like to relax without having to pay for meal/drink. Free water bottles were great touch. Hotel will store your luggage before checkin or after checkout so you don't have to lug it around. In short, everything I needed for affordable price.
A GREAT ROOM FOR THE PRICE,AUTOMATIC CHECK IN, FREE BOTTLED WATER ON EVERY FLOOR,NICE LOBBY,ELEPHANT AND CASTLE PUB CONNECTED TO HOTEL,A SAFE AND QUIET LOCATION, AND A SHORT WALK TO WATERFRONT AND ALL THE HISTORIC SITES. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. NEXT TIME WE ARE IN BOSTON WE WILL STAY THERE.
If you are new to Boston and walk quickly, as I did, you may miss the front entrance. This hotel is made for business travelers. It has small rooms ( at least the one I had was small) but it is very comfortable for a few days in Boston. They cater mostly to young students and those of us on a budget. They are in the center of the financial district and within walking distance of dinning and metro transportation. Its a walk from the Amtrak station which is why I chose the hotel. I will be going there again soon.
I now am making a habit of staying at Club Quarters hotels when they are available. The theme of these hotels seems to be wireless Internet, working desks, and flat screen TVs in small but clean rooms at reasonable prices. That's often just what I need in a large city hotel, since I am there not for the hotel itself but for some activity outside the hotel. The staff at this location were, to a one, helpful and service-oriented. Oh, and I love the refillable water bottles for my city walking. That is a great amenity that I am sure others will pick up on. All in all, I had a short but enjoyable stay.
Club Quarters offers inexpensive weekend rooms to its members for as low as 56 a night. So it is filled with kids and young people. If you are a business traveler or single person or couple with no children, you can expect noise at night. I left something small at the hotel. They wanted to send it FEDEX for about 25.00 and US mail would have cost 1.20 or less. I had to talk to a manager to get the problem sorted out and it was common sense.
The hotel staff was very knowledgeable of the area thus were very helpful. Rooms were some what small but were extremely clean and neat. Very quiet.Location was perfect for the subway and for walking to various historical sites. Free use of cdomputers. Restaurant has charm.
