First Class!

The Midtown Hotel is convenient to the artsy district and is directly across the street from the Christian Science buildings. A quick block or two to the subway and you're off to see all that Boston has to offer. The rooms however are desperately in need of updating. Green carpeting and that 80s floral print on the bedspread make think I'm staying at my Grandma's Florida condo. The rooms have very thin walls and it's difficult to get to sleep because you can hear everyone walk down the hallways. When a neighbor closes his door, it sounds like it's slamming! The water pressure on the shower head is excellent.I do have two very major complaints however. When the weather is cooler (about 60 F or so) they turn off the air conditioning to all the rooms. You no longer have the ability to cool your room! It was 78 degrees F in my room for two days and I couldn't get it any cooler. The manager was indifferent and offered to bring up a fan. What? I can't control the temperature of my own room? The second complaint: No free Internet access. I couldn't even hop on to another WiFi in the area as they were all secured.Overall, the hotel did a good job for the price. During the time I stayed, other hotels were at least one hundred dollars more expensive.
This hotel is in a very good location. A cab ride to all of the tourist spots is only about *. The hotel itself looks old and outdated. The restaurant and pool were both closed when we stayed there. We paid about * per night. That is a bit high, in my opinion, considering the hotel offers nothing special. However, this place offered a clean room at the best rate for downtown Boston (that I could find anyway)
We were in town for a Red Sox game. Looking for the best location and value, we chose the Midtown Hotel. The staff were great - very helpful with directions. This hotel is about location, location, location. It is an easy walk to Fenway as well as other attractions - very close to the Prudential building. The parking was only * for one day - quite a bargain in downtown Boston. Our room was small, but we weren't there much so it didn't matter. The bed was relatively uncomfortable and we did see a roach in the bathroom. But then again, we also saw a live mouse in the cafe nearby. Other than that, I would still stay at the Midtown again. Great location, great staff - enjoyed it!
My overall experience was horrible. I was there for a conference. My flight was late. I called to let them know. When I arrive the front desk person gave me no information about what services were available at the hotel. I was hungry and wanted a meal when I called for room service, I was told they had none but I could call for a delivery. When I called to order none of the places listed delivered. It was about 8PM and I had to walk several blocks to get a small meal. My room was in the rear of the hotel and I was offered no assistance inspite of telling them I had spinal surgery and could not lift. When I checked out they told me they had 24 hour bell serviice. The room was uncomfortable and in poor repair. The only thing they did was drop the bill off under my door.I have lodge a complaint through Orbitz and the hotel survey with not response. I would like to make other people aware of the poor quality at 129 per night.
My stay was fantastic. The staff was incredibly courteous- they even called me to ask if I wanted to switch rooms because I was about to be surrounded my 15 rooms worth of high schoolers! Great value, great staff, great location!
Lots of drawer space. Our card key never failed?we?ve been frustrated elsewhere where keys need to be re-programmed every day.Front desk personnel were personable, pleasant, helpful. Back home we discovered our teen?s iPod charger was left behind, they shipped it cheerfully. Just a block and a half in either direction to the T, world-class shopping and restaurants. Reasonably-priced onsite parking and internet.Want pampering? Stay elsewhere. Want a GREAT LOCATION at great price? (Think motel.) Stay here.
