In the heart of Back Bay. Easy access walk to 'T' however the station entrance closest to the hotel was being renovated. The renovation should be done in 2009. The lobby was very nice. Concierge and bellmen were helpful. Elevators are older and sometimes the elevator service was slow. The room was decent size, clean and nicely furnished. Bathroom was clean but on the small side for two adults and it could use an update. The room was directly above a busy street but the street noise was minimal with the air conditioner on. If you are going to use the T for more than one day, get the 7 day pass. It's a great value at * and provides easy access to everything in Boston. For the price paid, (* night) it was a good value considering it is located in the heart of Boston. Short walk to Boston Common and Boston Garden. Would definitely stay again at that price.
This hotel had a great location but terrible service and room quality. The room and bathroom was very small and outdated. Upon arriving the staff informed me they changed my reservation from a king non-smoking to a full smoking room. Also there was a fire alarm that went off at 4:30 in the morning in which they made all floors evacuate, only to find out it was a false alarm. I will not be staying in this hotel again!
We just returned from a Family trip with 2 children from Boston and stayed at the Park Plaza Hotel . I would recomed the Hotel. The food at the restaurant is not the best, but then again I was not impresed with the food in Boston (.) We were in Chicago in the summer and the food there is the best. We did eat at the Union Oster restaurant and that was a bit better but very pricy. We did order room service for the kids a couple of time and the pizza is actually preatty good. The girl at the front dest when we checked in was really helpful, she upgraded our room and gave us a bigger room with two bathrooms, so the rooms were not as small as I thought the would be. The rooms are actually a good size the bathroom however very small, but very clean.
the bathroom is very small but the room itself is of an average size. Great location and within walking distance to Copley Plaza (10 min). The subway system is adjacent to the hotel. Overall, it is a good value for the money.
In a city with so many good choices, I got stuck here on a business trip. Paying over 300 per night to be in a room out of 1950 is crazy! They even had extension cords running around the room (the second I tried, the first having faced a brick wall) to connect lamps, etc.. This is 2007 and this hotel has NOT kept up. The staff was indifferent ... totally.
The hotel was great for it's location and age. The staff were professional and helpful. DO NOT EAT IN THE HOTEL. The food was so terrible. We woke up and had breakfast in lobby restraunt, the area was beautiful but the food was cold and the buffett was dirty. We spend almost *for 2 people to have a breakfast and were very disappointed. To bad the food was not up to the same standards of the hotel.
