While the location is close to the Pike, the Common, and an easy cab ride ($8.50 + tip) to Copley Square, that is the only good quality of the hotel. Stayed...
We pricelined it, so maybe the hotel just shafted us, but our room stank. Literally. Of flowery perfume. The shower, no bath, had zero pressure -- which...
This place is A-OK! Location: great! A handful of surrounding dive bars, a 7-11, a dunkin donuts while being within walking distance of the theatre...

WOULD NEVER GO BACK
My wife and I stayed at the Tremont in July 2006 for five nights. We found it to be the worst hotel or motel experience we had ever incountered...
The rooms were clean, it was a treat to come back from a day of shopping and be greeted with fruit and cookies at the front desk.
Hotel rooms were tiny. No bath tub. Had a peculiar smell. Doors slammed loud. Bad location, heard police sirens all night behind hotel. TV sound hard to control. Overall stay was poor in all areas.
Based on the very small rooms, I felt I was in a 4 star European hotel. Rooms in the back of the hotel are very nosiy during the night. Truck deliveries start at 4 am. !!!
The rooms were painfully small, the flat panel TV on the wall was at an akward position on the wall (all the way towards the window out of view from the bed), the concierge was no help, 32 to park your car in the garage overnight--we parked in the street on the same block for free. We will never stay at the Marriott again!
