I generally forget about boutique hotels since I'm hooked on the large chain crack. The Back Bay Hotel is a great example of taking a historical site...
My work put me up here for a week. Being originally from Boston I was excited about the location. There are a million great restaurants and bars right in...
good location for back bay shopping. good price compared with other area hotels. staff did their jobs. not rude but not friendly. beds seemed narrow. no coffee in rooms. ate three meals. food was average to below average. charred hamburgers. no hot bread at brunch. asked doorman to get us a cab to the airport. he got an unmarked car with no cab meter. at the airport the driver charged about twice the going rate for the ride. I assume the hotel doesn't know of this scam. I have written them in hopes they will correct this.
The room was clean and fresh. I appreciated the "eco-friendly" approach, it really added to the decor and ambience. The hotel is also fairly new so there is no wear and tear and I felt like I got my money's worth. The Jurys is conveniently located near the Arlington St Green line station, and Back Bay area. I would, and will recommend this hotel.
This hotel was beautiful inside and out with a helpful friendly staff. The interior is a mix of mid-century modern and traditional. All the amenities you can think of are waiting for you in your beautifully decorated room which includes a safe. The bathrooms have marble and granite surfaces. The hotel is two blocks from Newbury street and a 20 minute walk to Beacon street where you have to visit the Cheers bar. Across the street from Cheers you are in the Public Gardens it is truely a "walking city". For a delicious Italian lunch go to Piainni's on Newbury street it is very very reasonable; for breakfast TeaLuxe also on Newbury street was awesome. Their boston cream pie was the best. Take the 34 trolley tour and Tia's Seafood on Boston harbor has the best clam chowder cobb salad. Across the street from Tia's is Quincy Market where you will find more delicious food. I will definitely stay at Jurys Boston Hotel again.
I surprised my husband with a trip to see the Red Sox on opening day. I wanted a hotel that was a little nicer than our normal stays as a family. I couldn't have been any happier. The staff was super nice and very accomodating. The rooms are a little small but I knew this from the other reviews. We weren't looking for much space so it was perfect. The bathroom was beautiful! Would love to redo my bathroom at home just like it. We will look at staying here again when we come back to Boston.
We reserved a Good Buy room at this hotel and it turned out to be a Fabulous Deal. The hotel is well maintained, the public rooms and our guest room were all in clean and in top shape. The rooms included free high speed wireless connectivity, bathrobes for your stay, and free bottled water. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. If you are returning to the hotel in the evening, you have to know where you are going, as the signage is demure. The nearest T stop is Arlington, a mere 2 blocks away. If you need a rental car, Avis is right around the corner on Commerce Street. The Sunday buffet is good, but a ordering from the menu is a better value. The staff could not have been more helpful.
The Jurys is well located, but the room--a "superior king"--was very small, and despite a smoking ban throughout Boston, smelled of cigarette smoke. Also, calls to the front desk and concierge were not answered promptly. The rack rate for the hotel is very high, so I wouldn't stay again unless I got a reduced rate.
Superior Service and Excellent Location.
