We had a suite. The extra room was nice since there were 4 of us. We had a great view of the river.
would never stay again. too noisy till 11 pm and we hardly slept. hotel staffs said there was a private party and they couldn't do anything including room change. just terrible. please don't go. we were like in a club.
Stayed here 1 night in Jan.2008. Pluses: Excellent hotel for the . Staff very friendly & helpful, complimentary shuttle to various locations throughout Boston made getting around very easy, rooms very clean and roomy, beds comfy, nicely maintained indoor pool and spa, free internet & business center. Minuses : Rooms have single beds instead of queen size beds, pull out couches in the living room's are very uncomfortable, restaurant food very good, but expensive, last but not least I wasn't too pleased to be charged 20 a night to park my car, parking should be free for guests. Overall this is a great hotel for the money and I would certainly stay here again.
I stayed here for a wedding and I will never come here again. The housekeeping staff repeatedly barged into rooms that had "Do Not Disturb" signs on the door (once was at 8am). The manager was rude, nosy and completely inhospitable. Many Doubletree hotels are very nice. This is not one of them. I hated this place.
I came to the website to try to arrange fro another stay at this hotel, and noticed the one review and wondered what are they talking about. I usually don't take yje yime to do reviews, but had to express another opinion. I travel quite a bit, both family and businees needsm and this was one of my best stays. Everyone was quite driendly, and went out of the way to be helpful. My only dislike was the twin sized beds. Even when I am by myself, I prefer a larger bed. And the shuttle service was quite a bonus.
I see some where disappointed. This was a great hotel and a great experience for my kids who have never been in a big city. We stayed on the 10th floor and we came with friends to the museum, aquarium, and Quincy Market. The kids were mesmerized with the view over the Charles River...Location was unbelievable. Far enough away from the hubbub, but the city lights kept the kids up in the bedroom while the adults were in the living room relaxing with a cocktail. The staff was superb, we did not dine their, but the staff recommended a delivery place that had excellent food and was reasonably priced. The pool was big and plenty of towels and seats. Attached hot tub. The sauna was nice and relaxing. The kids received backpacks (complimentary) and everyone got a warm chocolate chip cookie. I broke my back and all hotel beds kill me, but this was a huge king size bed that I slept very well on. The kids did sleep on the fold out couch with no complaints. Our friends had a room next door and there stay was just as good. The shuttle was a big bonus to get to the aquarium the next day. We are planning a trip with just adults and we will be staying here, it accommodates families, but it is a romantic getaway just with the view from your room. Unbelievable, that anyone would say it was not accommodating. Coming from a small town to a big city usually it is me with the gripes, but this hotel was more then I expected in all ways. Friendly and accommodating the staff was just great.
