I stayed on the Club level...the club lounge was a major plus. The beds are perfect. Everything was wonderful, location, staff; everything...the view from my room was extraordinary.\t
Barking dogs in rooms, dents in the ceiling (throwing something at a barking dog??) mildew in the bathroom, no complimentary coffee or WI-Fi in rooms...just not what I expected from the Sheraton. Other locations I have stayed at have been far cleaner and quieter.
Fantastic location, short walk through the adjacent shopping center to the T! Only significant complaint was with the fitness center and pool. It comes at an additional fee as it is a seperate entity from the hotel. Kids only allowed in a small area of the pool and attendants misrepresented the policy about kids in hot tub and sauna. We had to ask for our money back after the very well behaved kids were asked to leave the hot tub...of course the unsupervised young teenagers were not asked to leave while making a lot of noise...policy seems rather arbitrarily enforced. Good place to work out with equipment. Take the T to get around Boston, you don't need a car and parking at the hotel is pricey. Get a multi-use pass on the T.
This hotel has a beautiful lobby, but the beauty ends there. The rooms are small - which I expected since it is in Boston - but they are in disrepair. We walked in to find the wall corner protectors fallen on the floor. The bathroom had mold between the tile and the paint on the ceiling was peeling off. The wallpaper was also peeling off. The carpets in the halls and the rooms were badly stained. This is hotel has an upscale mystique, but delivers room quality consistent with road-side motels. Also, everything in the hotel is extra - the exercise room, the refrigerator, the parking , and the shuttle to the airport - fortunately we chose to simply ride the subway so we did not need to worry about parking. On the upside, the entire staff is friendly, prompt, and extremely helpful. The hotel is located/attached to the Prudential building and mall which is also a stop on the subway (green line), so we did not even have to brave the weather - which was cold - to catch it. In the Prudential building, there are many amenities - sight seeing tours, Enterprise car rental, and it is attached to a full service market with an excellent Wine selection. The hotel is in an excellent section of town and my wife and I felt extremely safe wandering the streets at night - like Newbury street which is only 2-3 blocks away filled with shops and restaurants/pubs. We were on the 25th floor with an excellent view of the Charles River across from MIT where we were able to watch rowers every morning on the water. Overall, I would stay again, but I am a little disappointed with the room condition. Other review report the sameabout this hotel.
When we checked in, we told them we were on our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a mini-suite. We had an amazing view (North Tower) and everything was perfect. It was in the greatest central location. Being attached to the mall was awesome for quick food, shopping, and easy access to transportation... we didn't even have to go outside for the subway! Plus the hotel was in an awesome location in relation to shops, restaurants, and the city itself. If I ever make it back to Boston, I'll definitely stay here!
The 1st room we were put in was terrible. It was a handicap room, room xxxx. It was terrible. The room was extremely smalland in dire need of new carpeting. We stayed in it for 1 night and asked to be moved. We were accommodated to a King executive suite which was much nicer, room xxxx. The restaurant at the hotel was extremely expensive but the food was very good. The staff and housekeeping were very friendly.
