My friends all raved about this hotel. We stayed there for a respite from a serious family emergency. Our room was very small and dark. When we opened the window it overlooked a dark alley filled with some kind of noisy equipment. Very noisy sounds from the hallway. We probably should have objected but we were so emotionally upset by our situation we did not have enough energy. Hope this review gets to the hotel....we need to come to Boston now for medical care and will never stay there again.
We were greeted by a bellman upon entering the hotel no matter what time of day. Doors were opened for us every time we entered the hotel and they even pushed the elevator button for us. I am a very simple gal but it sure was nice to be treated like royality for a weekend. An incredible hotel at a very reasonable price in historic Boston. Upon arrival we were complementary upgraded to a suite. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. With 9 inches of snow that weekend the sidewalks were cleared immediately. A couple a blocks from Newbury and Beacon Streets, there were so many places to shop and eat. Walking distance to the "T", Boston Conservatory, Berkley, and Northeastern as well as The Fenway and Charles River. With all this around the hotel it was really quite. I never heard a siren or a horn. Willl most definitely stay here any time we return to Boston and have already refered this hotel to friends and family.
We had a wonderful evening at the Eliot. On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite. Our rooms were comfortable, quiet, and tastefully furnished. The staff was very helpful and even made several phone calls to help us get the best price on a car we needed. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the Charles River and in the opposite direction, a couple of blocks from Newberry Street with all its shops and restaurants. The only deficiency I noticed was the lack of a coffee pot in the room. Room service came to the rescue.
This was areal find...been staying in Boston for years and never knew it was there.great location and old world charm, pleasant staff and very clean
