We booked a suite for the first night of our honeymoon here and i used the room to get ready in the day-of the wedding. I was apprehensive because of the bad reviews here, but the room was spacious and the staff was very helpful all around. The location is great if you are visiting St. Joe, it's right downtown and has ample parking. Beautiful lobby too. We took some wedding pictures there.

I was so excited to stay here after seeing the pictures on the hotel's official site. It looked really nice, plus it was across the street from Lake Michigan. I thought it was a little pricey but booked a 4 night stay. We got there after dark and thought the outside looked really pretty with the trees adorned with white Christmas lights and the deck off The Bistro looked inviting. We got inside the hotel and ....what a dump! The lobby was kind of nice but the floor/rug needed a good vacuuming. That should have been our first indication to RUN out of there but it was late and we were tired so we checked in. We got to our suite after taking an outdated elevator to the 5th floor. The halls were kind of dark and dreary and our room was so shabby and it looked like the last time it was remodeled was back in the 80's. The couch and rug looked dingy and grubby and the bedspreads had stains on them. The furniture looked to be over 20 years old. The air-conditioning didn't work that well so the room was stuffy all night. We called to the desk and the woman wasn't very sympathetic nor offered to help fix the issue. The hotel had no pool or jacuzzi, either. Needless to say, we checked out the next morning and found another hotel for the next 3 nights which we payed what cost us ONE night at the Boulevard Inn. I will never stay here again.

Ive stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past ten years or so. Although I did have some issues with the attitude of the staff, I continued to come back. The location is devine and the bar is wonderful!! Incredable views from my room. Some updating is needed as far as carpet, mattresses, furniture but overall I have enjoyed my"home away from home". Ive also stayed at two other local hotels in St. Joseph and I would recommend them for value and service over this hotel. Seems as though the others are making updates and improvments to the property as this one is too arrogant to do. Front desk staff was borderline rude at times and indifferent. A little training in customer service can easily fix that. Toilet ran all night, air conditioner smelled bad in my room and they didnt even try to fix them and when we asked for at least a discount at check out, we were told they had no record of the complaints so it was thier policy to charge quoted rate. When we argued, she almost came right out to say we were lying to get a discount as many people try this. We will not return here. Try the other two St. Joseph hotels.

The Boulevard needs MAJOR renovations. Don't be fooled into thinking that the high rate equates to nice accomodations. Our room was very dirty and in disrepair with a threadbare carpet and holes in the bathroom wall and a dripping tub! The location is the only positive but you can find nicer accomodations in the area. Be forewarned.
