When I stay at a cheap hotel I don't expect much, but when I'm paying *.00 per night I expect more. The sheets were not changed, and the tub was not very clean. We golfed at the "Bear" we were held up by a bunch of hackers who took 5 hours and 15 minutes to golf. The rangers did nothing to improve the situation. When we finally finished our * per round 5 hour marithon I spoke to the Golf Manager, he stated that he was sorry. I was'nt looking for anything I just was'nt happy with his dis-interest. We golfed the Spruce and Wolverie in just over 3 hours, no hold ups and in nice condition. Like I stated before, if I'm paying *a round of golf I expect some delays, but not when you are paying top dollar and the ranger was there and did nothing.
My husband and I went to stay at the GTRS in April of last year a few months after our twins were born. When we arrived at 4:30 we were told they didn't have a room for us. That they would call is on our cell phone. We decided to go out shopping and had been gone for 45 min when they called my phone, Told us there as a room, we leave get back and they say there's no room it was a trainee mistake, this happened 3 times, we didn't check in until 6:45pm. We asked the front desk if they had any ideas for dinner, they said nothing accept what was in the hotel which i've had and is way over priced for what it is. Our room was nice (in the tower) but the Jacuzzi had a dirty ring around it. The hallway of our floor (12th) smelled like someone had urinated. When we tried to speak to a manager they told us no one was available and they would contact us. When we got home I waited a week, no call so i decided to call, I left 2 messages in a 10 day period and finally someone called and after explaining everything, they did nothing to attempt to make it rite. It's a lovely place but it's really overpriced and their customer service is a problem. Also the bar in the sports lounge can't make drink to save their lives, I ordered a long island ice tea and I watched the man make it, it was tequila, sour mix and ice, thats it, it was horrible. I know they did a 27million renovation, but just because you have a nice facade doesn't mean you can treat your customers they way they did~JF
Beautifully landscaped; spacious setting; great view; high end shops in the hotel; clean and well decorated room; LARGE gorgeous bathroom. Definitely one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Other hotel rooms feel cramped by comparison. Friendly staff. My niece can't wait to go back. She loved the pool.
I'd heard from many people how wonderful the Grand Traverse Resort was so I was excited when I had to stay there for some business meetings. We'd requested a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. When asked to change, they said they were full and made no attempt to make up for the mix up. Also, although the rooms were nice, they were definitely not worth the money. You could get the same type of room for a cheaper price down the road at another hotel or motel.
Reservations messed up ours BIG TIME! We made our reservation in Jan. We were traveling with a handicapp. Our room went up 20 stairs as soon as entering the door. Hotel was very busy. Luckily we had other people at another hotel that we could take her too.It really put a damper on the family wedding.
