The hotel is 5 blocks from the Yellowstone River with spectacular fly fishing. Located off the lobby the Second Street Bistro is one of southwestern Montanas premiere restaurants with an extensive wine list and gourmet meals served in a sophisticated yet warm atmosphere. The Murray Bar is a popular spot for locals and travelers. Photos of fly fishing successes line the walls and bands from all over Montana and the country love to play here. Livingston is a, quaint, small town in a beautiful part of the country. The hotel staff, along with the rest of the towns people, were all very friendly. From the adjoining bar, to the railroad depot cafe, to the chop house, (all in easy walking distance) we were greeted with smiling faces, excelent food and drink, and all in a comfortable setting. We came for my niece's wedding and fell in love with a part of America most of us never experience. I highly recommend the town of Livingston and the hotel Murray is definitely the place to stay.
I'm a Livingston native--my family and friends have since moved away--and this is a great find. The hotel has undergone many changes over the years, and I was glad to have discovered that many of the rooms have been restored to their historic roots. We loved the original wood and fixtures, and the bedding was great as well. And, few places have a better location in Livingston. This is the only Livingston hotel we'll stay at when we visit.
