On the comer of the brightest spot in the world- ground broke on November 16- 1964- for one of the most famous Glitter Gulch landmarks -- the Four Queens Hotel/Casino. The hotel was dedicated to owner/builder Ben Goffsteins four daughters- Faith- Hope- Benita and Michele. It began as a pint-size property with 120 rooms and a casino of 20-000 square feet. Under creative leadership it has grown to be a jewel in todays downtown Las Vegas. In 1976- the casino expanded to 33-000 square feet- and the new decor set the interior-decorating trend for Las Vegas casinos by replacing the typical gambling-house red and black with warm earth tones. Another casino expansion in 1977 enlarged the casino to 40-000 square feet. It now takes up the full block of Fremont Street from Casino Center to Third Street. Another addition in 1981 added a nineteen-story- 400-room tower with a new front desk and lobby area plus 8-000 more square feet of casino space bringing it currently to 690 rooms of which 42 are suites- and approximately 50-000 square feet of casino space. In 2003- new owners TLC brought about a complete renovation of the hotel and casino. The Four Queens offers meeting and convention space for up to 180 people in the Royal Pavilion The gourmet restaurant- Hugos Cellar- has won recognition for five years as the best gourmet room in Las Vegas. Hugos wine list holds an Award of Excellence from The Wine Spectator. A 1995 Zagat survey listed the Four Queens as a property with solid comfort and super specials dealt daily. Forty years of downtown warmth and gaming entertainment make the Four Queens stand out as a Glitter Gulch landmark.

My husband & I stayed here for our 30th anniversary. First time in Vegas and we were very pleased with the 4 Queens. From the front desk on we were treated great. The room was roomy and clean and the bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in away from home. Housekeeping staff always had the room in great shape when we returned from a day of sightseeing. Room service had great food and fast service. The Magnolia Cafe has very good food. Our room was on the 5th floor in the North Tower which is under the canopy of the light show for the Fremont Street experience. It was absolutely awesome. We didn't even have to leave our room to enjoy the show. The hotel even though it was fully booked was quiet. When we return to Vegas we will be staying at the 4 Queens again.
My son has a disability and often spends much of his time in the room. We requested a room on the North side, 6th floor or below so that he could stay in his room and watch the light show from the comfort of the room. The staff was extremely accomodating and we had a wonderful time watching the Fremont Street Experience. I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. They were Wonderful! We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Las Vegas.
I took my wife to Vegas for a birthday weekend getaway and we had settled on staying up at the Fremont St part of town rather than the Strip. No regrets at all on selecting the Four Queens as our "base camp". Not too far a drive (distance-wise) to get onto the main part of the Strip for the show we went to see (KA at the MGM) if you don't mind the gridlock along the Strip and Koval. The only negative things about our room were that we had requested a non-smoking king room and we got a smoking king room instead, and the TV channel selection was pretty minimal --- even dismal. Oh and the in-room coffee supplies were inconsistently topped up. Now the smoking /non-smoking thing : we could have, and in hindsight SHOULD have, gone back down to the check-in desk and had our room changed, but we didn't so we can't whine too much I guess. By the end of the third night there, all of our clothes had absorbed the smoky smell so I knew we were in for a lot of laundry when we got home. So far as the TV channel selection, I know people don't go to Vegas to watch TV, but you've gotta return to your room and unwind/rewind sometime, and it's only natural to want to flick on the tube during these brief visits to your room... We checked out some of the other local establishments of course --- Fremonts Hotel&Casino have a great weekend brunch buffet for 11pp, Golden Nugget have an excellent pool area with a water slide that runs through an aquarium. All in all, excellent value for money.
The suite was superior to any room that I have stayed in while visiting Las Vegas. The location was great but the casino could use more table games.
We stayed in a regular room, and all the rooms here have been refurbished. They are really nice sized rooms, and all have HD Flat screen TV's, and all have a coffeemaker in the room, which is a HUGE plus. A tip, though, the tap water is not very good, so get water bottles from the casino, and make your coffee with that - it will make a big, big difference in the taste. The bathroom is rather small, but certainly functional, and we were pleased with the cleanliness. We were in an odd numbered room on the 8th floor of the South Tower, which I thought was the preferred place, but you can still boogie to the show outside until after midnight. Magnolia's has great specials with a player's card and decent food. The slot machines were ok - not too tight, but not quite loose enough either! (Are they ever?) Drink service is pretty good here, and other staff are very nice, especially bellhops. Give it a try.
The location was great. The beds were very comfortable. I slept very good and normally do not when I go on vacation. Access to a large screen T.V. was a plus for me because I watch a lot of T.V. at night before I go to bed. The staff was very courteous. They were always there to help with anything we needed. We were accommodated with adjoining rooms and for my sister and I that was fun to share the events of the day. Located right on the Freemont Way was exciting. If you couldn't find anything to do--shame on you. We loved the Four Queens and I plan to return with my husband the next time.
An old favorite on Fremont Street.
In ShortDebuting in the mid-Sixties, this hotel was named by the owner for his wife and three daughters. Despite the influx of major resort
