do not eat at Sherwood Cafe, Food was ok, Service was terrible!!!!!

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-17

The hotel was great. Check in was easy and the rooms are easy to get to, there not hidden amongst the slot machines. Each tower was guarded by security. The rooms are clean and have some spiffy decor in them. The pool area was nice. There were 4 pools to choice from. The only disappointing thing about the pools are they close at 8:00pm and the sun isn't even down by that time and summertime in Vegas means its hot all day and night long. There is plenty to choice from to eat. They have a steak and seafood house, buffet, and even fast food for those in a hurry or with picky kids. They have sandwich shops, dough nuts, Chinese food to go, and even a quick-y mart. The Arcade was excellent, tons to do and a lot bigger then most of the other hotels. It was very family friendly and clean. The people working the counters and games were very nice. The entertainment was awesome. We saw the Tournament of Kings dinner show and it was well worth it. I would suggest taking the family to see it. All in all the hotel was great, one of the better ones for the family. Lots to do and see and very comfortable. Every time you walk by a worker of the hotel they make to sure to smile at you and see if everything is going well.

Great value in prime strip location. Our unit was renovated and overall was a good deal. Beds were older and should be replaced soon. Our sink was clog but maintenance came at 11 pm to fix it. Corridors were long but security did station themselves at the elevator entry and roamed the corridors. Great show at the Tournaments of Kings but buy your tickets at the half price outlets and not at the hotel.

I stayed at Excalibur in 2007 and the the hotel/casino was great, but the food was horrendous. When i stayed at the excalibur in june2008, the food was a huge improvement. The first night we had a free upgraded room which had a very comfy bed. But we did not have a view. We ended up with two queen beds which were very uncomfortable. We ended up dragging the bedding from one bed to the other to cushion the bed as we could not sleep. After that, we slept just fine. Everything else about our stay was awesome. I would definitely recommend getting the upgraded room if you go here because the beds are nicer. But the upgraded rooms with a view are about 30 extra per night but it would have been worth it.

I have to admit that I was a bit concerned about staying at the Excalibur after reading some of the reviews, but I don't have a bad thing to say about the hotel. The staff was very friendly, Dick's Last Resort was a trip, the band "Drive" that played in the lounge was awesome, and The Tounament of Kings was more than we coutld have imagined. We were close to everything we wanted to do, and had every resourse we needed to get to anything we weren't close to. It was a fantastic romantic getaway for my husband and I after his return from Iraq. I have no regrets about choosing Excalibur, and what can I say, I got every girls dream, I got to stay in a castle. I would recommend Excalibur to couples going alone to Las Vegas or those going with thier kids, there is fun to be had for all.

I had my wedding here and although it was not awful it was not the best experience either. the room rates were good but many of my guest were left with views of roof tops. we were promised that our rooms would be grouped together (i had wanted this for safety and convienence) but were given lots of attitude and treated rude then were told they dont do that needless to say my guest had to wait for about 2 hours to straighten out everything. as for the food do not eat the buffett not 1 out of my 30 guest enjoyed it! however the chapel and catering dept are wonderful. as for the pool usually one or two was always closed down so it can get crowded sometimes.
