I would give this "hotel" a negative 5 stars if it were possible. I was harassed catcalled and followed during my stay. I filed a report with "security" but...
We came here as part of a conference. The rooms were pretty beat up, my bathroom had no fan, and though the beds were comfortable I couldn't sleep because...
I feel like taking 3/4 of all of these people who wrote reviews for the Riviera and screaming into a megaphone meticulously placed over their ears while I...
Wow! I did not expect this!?
After reading some of the reviews about the Riviera, I was getting buyers remorse thinking what was I thinking, I knew I would "get what I paid...
Hotel a great value - hawkers need to be kicked out

Great Homebase to Explore Vegas
For those not familiar, yes this hotel is dated. It is a holdover from Vegas past, but I thought of it more as retro cool and historic than out...

Great time and can not wait until I come back.
They let me and my friends check in early and that surprised us. The room was always clean and the shows was very good.
Great stay despite bad revires
We had a great stay here. I had previously checked the reviews and saw that the renovated rooms were in the Monaco tower. We stayed there and...

They wouldn't allow any check-ins early . None. They held my suitcase until I got my room then brought it up. Even when the check-in time came...
Would not choose this hotel again
Upon check in our clerk was not very friendly. She didn't even crack a smile. The room itself was a basic standard room, which is what we set ...
Best Comps for Players
My wife and I love the Riv because they give the best comps of any place on the strip. We spend a couple hundred dollars a day there, and we ge...
Smiles
Had a great time. last morning there, woke up to floor with 2-3" of water on it. They gave us a new room without hassle, will go back again
We had a great room that was recently renovated. Nice view of the strip too. My wife was at a conference in the hotel so it was very convenient. Saw the Ice show in the hotel and the show was great but the seating was the old fashion cocktail seating and not conducive to a straight on view. Buy your tickets at the half price booth just outside the hotel instead of from the hotel box office.

I frequently visit VEGAS for both business and pleasure and usually stay Downtown, occationally at SAM'S TOWN, and rarely on the Strip. The RIVIERA comped my stay and the room itself was the nicest I've ever experienced. However, MILLER GENUINE DRAFT (MGD) was not available at any casino bar. The bar tenders had no explanation, "pushed" some other brew that I'd never heard of, and were, generally, unpleasant "air heads." Will I return? Not likely. And certainly not until they resume serving MGD.
A long wait in line just to check in when arriving late, then being told your room is not ready! This is at midnight I'm talking about! Hotel invites me to linger around at coffee shop, while room is prepared, I said: No, thanks. Then they invite me to put my bags in not ready room, but room appears already made, except for trash not cleaned from trash cans. No no-smoking rooms available. The hallways stink of smoking... Construction noise from the hotel or from adjacent construction bothers in the early morning. There is no cooler, refrigerator, microwave, etc. in room. Guests discouraged from eating anywhere but in the hotel's own restaurants.
All they workers know how to stay is we cann't help you. They do not all at care about the guest. They won't even mapquest you directions. You have to pay for wireless service and if u ask the front desk about it they have no clue. I have never had such bad service. The asian food place was horrible. They give us 2 out 3 of our plates and not even all of their food, than took about 15 mins to bring us the rest of the food and my plate, that the messed up on. I had to get up to get my own fork. Than told them the pop tasted funny, the lady took a drink of it in front of us. How nasty is that? Sold us tickets 4 day before this show and my husband got his tickets the same day as show, went to go to show. Guess what no show. All the said is here is your money back. We cann't help you, kind of yell at us like it was our felt we waste our day because we had a show at 5 to watch. I would never stay there again, even if it was free.

Great location and value by Veronica O. at InsiderPages
The review below seems to be about the Rio - not the Riviera. The Riviera is on the strip, just the older part.
