The Tropicana is one on the best locations on the strip with walkways to MGM and Excaliber and New York New York you are next to a large amount of things to do. It was perfect for our budget b/c we wanted low cost but nice room so our money could be spent in Vegas not on where we spent the least of our time. The room was nice and clean. Ok view. Cheap Blackjack and awesome dealers. Fun slots but not so overwhelming as some on the other casnios are for 1st or 2nd time visiters. I plan to stay here again the only thing I would change is the carpet. It does need some upgrade but some of the lack of upgrade lends more to the Tropicana's old time charm.

THE FIRST NIGHT WE CHOSE TO STAY IN THE GARDEN ROOMS NOT THE CLEANEST AND RUN DOWN THE AIR DID NOT WORK AND THE RUG BECAME WET PROBABLY FROM THE BROKEN AIR. AFTER TELLING THE MANAGER THEY CHANGED OUR ROOM TO A VERY NICE ROOM WITH AIR THAT WAS WORKING GOOD AND WE HAD A WONDERFUL VIEW OF NEW YORK- NEW YORK. THE POOL WAS CLEAN AND MOSTLY EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD STAY AGAIN BUT IN THE TERRACE ROOMS

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-30

Stayed for 3 days, found the room clean and simple , well worth the money, stay in the tower closest to the strip, Paradise Tower, dinner buffet much better then the lunch buffet, room service quite good, got comp. magic show tickets, would recommend it to a friend

 by  anonymous  on  2008-07-25

We got the upgrade for the Paradise Tower room (as we were warned the garden rooms are 'old') - the room was ok only disappointing thing was no coffee maker! They made it so that you have to buy your coffee from a little coffee shop or in the restaurants. The buffet was ok - might was well save that money to go to a good buffet when in Vegas. The pool area was nice. The Casino was good but the waitresses don't come around often enough. The mixed drinks are weak - stick with beer and wine. The card dealers were ok - not the most lively I experienced but for the most part nice.

First, the Tropicana is old by Las Vegas standards, and a little worn. However, the rooms are very clean and a great value when compared to the newer mega-casino resorts. In fact, it's probably the best value on the Strip -- very strategically located. Nothing is cheap in Vegas anymore, but the restaurants offered substantial value for mediocre food. The front desk clerk was extremely helpful, as was the majority of the staff. The Tahiti Village timeshare agents were irritating -- I really resent having to "avoid" hucksters in the hotel where I'm staying. Entertainment, as always, is the Folies Bergere-- reliable and affordable. Bottom line -- you can spend **a night at the Venetian, etc., or get a comfortable room at the Tropicana and "invest" the savings on food, shows and gambling. I'll take the Trop.

We came to Vegas for my sister's wedding. The pricing was great and the service was good too. The front desk was fast and helpful as was the bell service. They were very prompt in delivering a dress cart and making sure we got all of our fancy wedding wear into and out of our rooms as needed. The rooms were clean and well stocked. This is an older property, but all was in good repair and the POOL was beautiful. The only thing that was a bother were all of the Tahiti Village time share folks. We took to telling them we were from Las Vegas and that usually got them to leave us alone. It was very convenient to have the walkways to Excaliber (which connects you to Luxor and Mandalay Bay) and MGM. Totally great location. We will definitely be back to the Trop on our next trip!
