Problems with this hotel, which is really a motel and casino.
This hotel is really a multi-stored motel behind the casino. Management is very oriented to casino customers and does not seem to care much abo...
This place is a hidden gem in Vegas. Clean, friendly, and great prices!
The rooms are laid out in motel style setting where you could hear the people coming out from the Casino and walking to their rooms talking loudly late at night. In the morning, people would drag their rolling suitcases and bags down the stairs so you would be woken up by that noise. Parking for the hotel rooms late at night was a bit hard to find. But you could park in the Casino Parking lot and walk to your room, which was not that far anyway. If you don't want to pay for parking on the Strip and the hussle and bussle of the Strip this was a good location. Only about a 10 minute drive to the Strip.
We stayed here three times during the two weeks we passed through Nevada. Good news: Rooms were clean and adequate. No frills. Buffet was delicious. Front desk was helpful. Security guards made us feel safe, considering it was not in a good neighborhood. Bad news: What is up with NO coffeemakers in rooms or coffee in lobby? We had to buy our own coffee if we wanted it. When we asked, we were told that coffeemakers in rooms were "unsanitary and hard to maintain". HUH? Being avid coffee drinkers, we were resentful of the long walk through the smoky casinos to purchase a cup of coffee when we wanted it!Anyway, for the money, it was adequate, especially if you aren't into staying on the strip and just want a quiet night's rest before moving on, as we did.
Our first stay at Arizona Charlies and we truly enjoyed it. We like being on Boulder Hwy. instead of fighting the Strip traffic. Our room was very comfortable and we ate most of our meals in the cafe (which is very good no matter the time of day). Living in Texas, we only make it to Vegas once a year now but we will definitely stay there again.
Overall I was very pleased. After reading other reviews I was prepared for an uncomfortable bed and stinky room. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I even brought my mattress topper, slept great! Others in my group said their beds were very comfortable as is. I also brought an odor neutralizing fabric spray, which made the room smell very nice, but was not neccesary. The staff was very nice and helpful. The buffet was much smaller than the large casinos but was a very nice value. The 24 hr Steak Special at the Sourdough Cafe for 3.29 was excellent. The Casino does have a smoky odor but is tolerable. I don't know how long it will last but when you sign up for their rewards card they will reimburse you up to 100.00 in slot play loses on the first day that you can play out on certain slot machines. It is a fair distance from the strip, but if you have a vehicle it is no problem. A taxi ride might cost you 40-50 round trip. Overall I would stay there again.
The hotel was clean enough and the casino was great. Low limits and nice dealers. It seemed like there was a lot of local business here, so people were quiet and respectful. The room was on par with a Ramada, and it was clean. I'd stay here again on business or to just have a crazy weekend with the guys, but probably not so much with a family. Also, the house band in the lounge was really, really good and the drinks were really, really cheap. Give it a shot!
