I will only stay here again, once a year for Basketball Tourney. I especially want to thank your people in Reservations, with them making it possible for us to stay despite not having reservations. ALL emplyees are to be commended from parking all the way to the cleaning maids, very professional and very approachable. My hats off to Security also, I had no problem with my 12 year old son going to the Arcade at ANY time of the evening, we as a family felt very safe even with the capacity filled hotel. Last but not least, our room was very clean, everynight, extra towels were giving with no problem. It would be nice to remind everyone who is satisfied with their room that it wouldnt hurt to TIP also the room cleaning persons, they deserve it and sometimes we take it for granted, plus Im sure they would appreciate it. Thank You CIRCUS CIRCUS !!!!
For the same price as a regular room, we booked the mini-suite and it was perfect. Separate living room to hang out in. Nice that Starbucks was downstairs just off the elevator. Not too much going on out there in Reno. Was my first time there. Came for the matchbox twenty concert (awesome!) but probably won't be back. There's only one Vegas!
Overall, our stays at Circus Circus have always been pleasant. For what you pay you can't ask for more. However, it would be great if the hotel would consider designating at least one floor of the sky tower for guests and their pets. This would greatly ease the burden of leaving our beloved pets behind.
Hotel property wasn't the worst we've ever stayed in, but it was certainly NOT the best. Upon checkin we were not given the room we reserved and had to pay 200 extra for an available upgrade which we took for 2 nights. We were then moved to another room (which we DID reserve originally). That room had no hot water. Reported it and was given a run around for 2 days. Finally moved to yet a 3rd room. So we never really got settled it. Hotel staff was very unaccommodating and unpleasant from the get go. Valet guys and Bell staff was VERY NICE and knew how to do their job with a smile on their face, UNLIKE the Front Desk people. Really bad! Logisitcally, staying in the Sky Tower was very inconvenient and a big pain in the neck. Don't stay in Sky unless you want to lug your stuff around and get a good work out every time you leave your room. The hotel wasn't bad itself (not good though), but overall the most impressive negative was the staff. They just simply do NOT care about their guests at all. Too bad, because that makes a difference when tollerating inconvenience. I guess if you are going there just to drink and gamble who cares, but we didn't do much of either and it was a terrible experience. Thanks Sal (Bell Service) YOU ARE GREAT !!! After alot of begging for service they try to nice it all over by giving food certficates, but who care about that when you can't even get settled in or take a shower. Overall rooms not bad, but definitely not worth the aggravation! Go somewhere that's rated higher, better reviews, pay a little more and then maybe you will enjoy your stay.
I stayed at Circus Circus for work. The hotel was okay, and the package trip (hotel, air and car) was an excellent value. But, if you've stayed at Circus Circus in Las Vegas, this hotel is very different and on a much smaller scale than its Las Vegas namesake. Don't eat at Circus Circus. The food is overpriced. The interesting thing is that Circus Circus, Silver Legacy and another hotel are all connected and you can go from one to another without going outside. I would avoid the Circus Circus buffet and other restaurants, and instead go to the buffet at the Silver Legacy. It's a short walk and you will be happy you went there. Some of the best food I had in Reno was at the Silver Legacy's buffet. It's not real cheap, but it's a better value than anything at Circus Circus. Also avoid the food at Fitzgerald's-it's cheap, but it's not that good. If I go back out to Reno, I'll probably stay at Silver Legacy and see what that's like. If their rooms are as good as their food, then it's probably a better place to stay than Circus Circus.
If you use a manual wheelchair you won't want to stay in the Sky Tower. A power chair or a helpful pusher is needed for some of the ramps. And there are now direct elevator to anywhere. Parking garage to registration involves several ramps and an elevator ride. Registration to Sky Tower involves elevator to ramps (pretty steep to push yourself!) and a tram ride then another elevator to room. If you move auto closer to room, elevator in garage only connects to Sky Tower on bottom floor and can only be accessed by chair on 1st and 4th floors of garage. The room was spacious and really did have an accessible bathroom but was difficult to get to. Also, the room wasn't cleaned and ready when we got there at 5:00 pm. My husband who was exhausted by the time we got there was delayed from resting for 25 minutes while our room was prepared.
