The decor, amenities, staff, comfort -- everything is superior. SoHo Grand is a beautiful, well- kept, funky hotel. It's not your usual bestwestern BS. Rooms are roomy (for NYC), furniture is art deco-ish (as well as the entire hotel). Staff is helpful enough not to look like they're not New Yorkers. Food and drinks are great. I would definitely come back again. Had a great time staying there.
I think this is fine for people that don't mind spending a lot of money for a little room with a curtained armoire for a closet next to the bed. I did like the decor and loved the location so if all I did was sleep, I could have done so for less money
Only complaint was wireless internet was spotty and there was not desk to do work at just a small round table. Not conducive to business travel but would be great for personal.
Hotel is in a great area of town, right off Chinatown, Little Italy, and Greenwich Village. 15 minutes walk to either Battery Park/Ground Zero/Financial District in one direction or Union Square in the other. The rooms are small, but the bed linens, towels, etc. are high quality and very comfortable. The hotel is pricey, but this is to be expected in this part of town. Very chic.
I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The staff was very good, as was the restaurant. The rooms were small but nice. There is some sort of outdoor nightclub next door and there was a pary of some sort next door that was fairly loud and went late. I had earplugs so it was not a problem. Anyway, it is a fine place to stay.
King is really a queen - so don't waste for king room (when asked they said it's ""European"" size). Plus room was dirty - could see didn't really vacum rug - gross.
great hotel - hip and luxurious
friendly staff, great location, the staff were very helpful and the location is superb
Luxury Digs
