Would never go there again
I can't tell you enough not to stay here. The first room they gave us was right over an extremely loud exhaust fan from the 24 hour restaurant ...
This is a strange place. Looks like it must have been an SRO at one time, and the sleek check-in desk doesn't disguise the rabbits-warren of tiny hallways awaiting you on the floors above. My room did not have it's own bathroom! The floor was dirty, the a/c control was broken, the beds were single beds (not two twin beds, mind you, but two single beds), and not very comfortable ones at that. Everything about this place, except the check-in desk and the gorgeous El Al flight crew that was checking in as I was checking out, is weird, dirty or inconvenient. Even a teenager/college-student who would tolerate all of the above could pay the same price for an upper west side hotel with a clean room in proper working order with its own bathroom.
This is a horrible hotel! The Staff was rude and didn't care about customer service! The hotel bathroom was small and cramped! On top of that the rooms smelled of urine 24/7.The rooms did not look like the picture at all! There were RAT Traps in the corner of the room! How Nasty!! I was so unpleased with my stay! It made my tip to NY horrible!
The staff was incredibly polite and extremely helpful. Lots of decent moderately priced places to eat, and the subway enterence was one street away.
Hotel was decent.. nothing spectacular.. the pictures of the hotel make it look much nicer than it actually is.. beware of the ""shared bathrooms.""
When we checked-in, the clerk acted as if we were bothering him. The hotel was misleading. It was NOT a two bedroom suite. It was more of a one bedroom and a living room with a bed in it. We were placed in a smoking room even though we requested non-smoking. There were four of us in the room with only two towels and washcloths. We had to call EVERYDAY (four days) to request additional towels. The toilet was not working properly one day and called to have it fixed. It was fixed over an hour and a half later."
We've stayed at a lot of NYC Hotels, and this has been the best value to date. The Superior King looks out over Broadway and is HUGE for a NYC hotel. Windows need replaced, though.
