My husband and I stayed at the Westin for our anniversary. It was our first trip to NY and it couldn't have been better! The Westin is a beautiful hotel and the location is great. Only one street away from Times square! We were within walking distance to many things. The room was so nice and the bed was great. We slept so well. I would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful corner room on the 19th floor with spectacular views. We are already discussing when we are going to go back. It was a very special trip and NY is a great city.
Westin advertises "heavenly bed and heavenly bath", well, the bed is nice enough but the shower is very good. They have two adjustible showerheads that make your shower luxurious. It could have been better designed, though. I would like a sitting area on the edge of all hotel showers where you could soak your aching feet after a day of airplane travel and hours of tramping through Times Square. That would have made their bath heavenly. Still, that was one of the best showers i've ever had in a hotel. The maids were exceptionally friendly and considerate as were the room service staff and front desk ladies. The hotel location is great - very near theaters, food, Times Square. Duane Reade drug store across street is convenient for snacks etc. . DO NOT order room service breakfast. I got the basket of breads containing three unremarkable, small, dry pastries and a serving of Canadian bacon with cranberry
We had a very nice stay at the Westin, The bell staff was very good. The security of the hotel was present at all times. We felt very safe. Rooms are done nicely. TV was great for children and games. Shower was great. The beds at the Westin are the best. There is no hotel that has better. All the services you would expect were very good. We look forward to our next stay at a Westin.
I chose the Westin based on the travel website reviews. I was worried about some of the comments: "Small Rooms" Based on great price , the proximity to Times Square, and the comfortable appearance of the HUGE bed in the pictures we chose Westin. The Westin is everything a hotel should be. It is completely new throughout. As you enter at street level, the concierge and security are first to help. We arrived early before check-in and had some time for early sight-seeing, so the Westin Staff will check your bags so you can feel safe while you tour the nearby Times Square. They are all polite, frindly and helpful. There is also an Esplanade entrance from the rear of the building which is gained through walking through a small mall and theater complex and leads to the front desk. The design of the lobby is open, yet cozy, with subdued colors throughout. The front desk personnel were exceptionally helpful. Our Westin Rep was a pleasant young lady, took our early check-in and told us we would have after chamber service. What a room! On the top 45th floor. FANTASTIC CITY VIEW! The rooms are walled with a very light pastel green, very soothing. The bed was a "California King" which though huge, still did not overpower the large room. SO COMFORTABLE! Spacious room thorughout. Bathroom great. Dual shower heads. Thick robes. Small Minor ding: Wood & glass bathroom sliding door is heavy, which also gives a feel of a lack of privacy. Finallly, Westin gives you a catalogue of all the furniture and linens and where to buy them. We will be getting that California King! Walked right up the street and started sight-seeing, had a great dinner at the "DERVISH" Turkish restaurant, next am, breakfast at Tiffany's and went home happy.
TEST REVIEW - PLEASE IGNORE. I WILL DELETE THIS WHEN TESTING IS COMPLETE. THANKS.
Location is great. Service is great. Room was barely adequate. Labeled a Junior Suite, but is really one room separated by a thick partition. King size bed was comfortable. Small pullout couch for sleeping in sitting room is not. No door between the bedroom and sitting room. Small tub/shower combination. Bathroom is large, but shelving inadequate. If you are going to pay premium rates, you should check out other properties before staying here.
