This hotel is fabulous. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the two pools (indoor and outdoor) were wonderful for both the adults and our children, and the expansive grounds were a welcome relief for tired eyes after driving all day. Our stay was on a Friday night so we were there for the huge breakfast they feature on weekends. The only improvement would be having a restaurant on site as we had to drive a few miles to get to the town to dine. Very private, very nice, we would definitely recommend it to anyone.
We chose the Tarrytown House after a long search for a weekend get-away. We were impressed with all the great reviews and found a good deal on online travel website. As you drive in you are immediately impressed with mansions and grounds. Guest rooms are fantastic with large HDTV's, new bathrooms, etc. Breakfast is included and is like a gourment buffet. Layout is confusing but getting lost was fun for us but I could see frustrating for a business person in a rush, the place is huge but with many privae little areas to explore.
As we drove up the drive to this gorgeous property, we were excited. We were disappointed at how run-of-the-mill the rooms were. Then one look at the bathroom and I was horrified that I spent */night for this room. The bathtub was scuffed with a huge chunk taken out of the side. And to top it all off, the coffee selection was grim with only one packet of creamer and suger.
Beautiful rooms, pillow mattresses, Flat Screen HDTV, gourmet breakfast
Excellent hotel, great staff, great location with mansion and Hudson River views. Definitely would stay again.
