Hidden location, but great!
This hotel seems like it is in the middle of nowhere, but it is right off the I-90, exactly what we were looking for. It has free wifi, breakf...
While this hotel is a bit diffciult to find and the region (not a property of the hotel) has few attractions or restaurants, the hotel itself is quite nice and the staff were professional and polite. The room was large and clean. The workspace in the room was adequate and internet access was simple and free. The complimentary breakfast was better than most -- including a variety of items and the items changed daily. On one day of my stay, the maid service was a bit slow, but it was thorough. The front desk can recommend several restaurants that deliver to the hotel that. If I need to return to the area, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
We were upstate visiting a college and stayed here. The two double bed room was quite large with a large desk, a nice sofa seat with ottoman, lots of lamps, a fridge, a safe, and a closet. The room was clean and the beds were quite comfortable. Everything worked in the fitness center. The hot tub was very nice, but the pool is small. The problem is its location. It is very isolated and not so easy to find in the dark. There are also no nearby restaurants, although the hotel is advertising the opening of one in the future. It's an industrial area in the middle of nowhere. You have to travel in order to find food. Another problem was that the second day we were there, the beds had been made but the room had not been cleaned. The person at the desk was very apologetic.
The only way you'll get a good night's sleep is if the people in the next room don't make a sound! Did they save money on construction with paper-thin walls? And yes, the location is strange - it does feel like the middle of nowhere. Whole experience gave me the impression that Wingate must be Wyndham's cut-rate cousin.
Hotel is new, but literally is isolated, with NO surrounding businesses. Had to navigate through confusing rural roads to find any type of restaurant to bring food back to the room to eat dinner. Took an hour round trip.Booked a "suite" but this only meant a larger room with 2 beds. No sofa(bed)-- just a chair with an ottoman and a large empty space in the room.Would not stay here again.
I enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to go back again for our stay next year!
