I had a great time staying with them. The location is good. Only one block from MAX stop, one block from the Pioneer Square. The room is clean. The price is reasonable. I definitely will stay with them next time I go there.
I was so upset because they didn't have my reservation. Called directly to book Presidential Suite. Had confirmation # and they simply didn't have my room booked. Had wine and fresh flowers set up upon arrival and didn't have them. Concierge set it up and come to find out, they don't even have a concierge!! Staff was juvinile and unprofessional. Thought this would be an upscale place, and "not so much!
You can walk to everything from this very comfortable hotel. Two blocks in either direction to the free street trolley. Plenty of tasty restaurants within walking distance.I agree that this isn't the best hotel for families with children--no pool. Room service is slow (half an hour to get a pot of coffee). We didn't try the restaraunt b/c we wanted to explore the city more, but there were always people there. Valet is too expensive. If you're just visiting Portland, you don't need a car (light rail goes to airport).
Great location, great beds, excellent bathroom, and the staff was simply amazing. But all of the negatives mean the overall grade is only 3 stars. This hotel doesn't measure up to the Westin name. The rooms are no better than a Hampton Inn. At the rates the Westin charges, the rooms have to be better. Too cramped, and other than the bed, the furniture is average. 23/night for valet parking is ridiculous, as is 10/night for wireless Internet in the room. The Westin bills itself as being family-friendly, but I think this hotel is really more appropriate for the single or business traveler.
Hotel offers distinctive digs and modern amenities for business travelers and families.
With programs designed for business travelers and families, this property takes service seriously. Business travelers can take adva
