This was a wonderful if brief stay. The spa provides use for hotel guests of the whirlpool and dry and wet sauna. I didn't try the spas services, but the gym was clean and up to date. Free wireless and great breakfast offerings on each floor!!!! Fresh coffee and ambiance delightful. Next time I would choose a room on the river side. Trails run all along here and cute wine/Italian restaurant next door. The wine was very pricey and they did not have chardonay, which I found strange. Overall a great place to stay, if a bit out of the loop of downtown Portland.

We wanted a nice relaxing stay... the phone dodnt work correctly, the tv sound did work as it should and the van driver didnt show up for work. Then to top it off the bussiness center had lost the internet conncetion. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN...WE tried to call travel agency but received a busy signal. what a waste of money.

Room was clean. Looks like they have done some updating. Staff was freindly. Continental breakfast was adequate and convenient (they have it set up on each floor so you can take it to your room). Parking was high (15 a night) and they didn't have enough. In the morning cars were parked on the sidewalks. The meeting room was great with a great view of the river. Food for our meetings was great (catered by the hotel). It's a little inconvenient getting to the hotel from downtown Portland if you don't know your way around, but they also offer a free shuttle to the downtown area.

Being right downtown is overrated. This was great. A nice and quiet place to retire to after driving (getting lost) all over Portland. The decor was contemporary and the room was very clean. The staff were extremely helpful. They even came up to our floor to help find the ice machine. I realized that I had left our jackets on the bed when checking out and they went up and got them for us.The restaurant is a little fancy schmancy for us and a little expensive, but the bar was a nice place to hang out for a little bit. It's right on the river and has great atmosphere. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room.

I had been told that Portland was a real food town and I had plans to visit four different restaurants in town but I got in late the first night and just ran down to the hotel restaurant and I didn't want to eat anywhere else the whole time I was there. Incredible food, incredible view. The service was mostly great--I had one visit where it was a little slow. I'm still drooling a little over the "Eggs Avalon" from yesterday's brunch which was basically eggs benedict with smoked trout instead of bacon. I've never tasted a hollandaise sauce so perfect. I've never vacationed in Portland, the weather is too much like staying home for me but I'm planning to return now.

Great hotel, staff very friendly, beautiful rooms and bathrooms, very comfortable beds, nice patio. Didn't use spa or room service. Soundproofing between rooms was terrible, 15 parking charge for no reason.
