Travelocity Reviews ( 10 Reviews see all ) Top

 by  anonymous  on  2008-05-26

It's a Holiday Inn so don't even expect luxury. But it is cleaner than other Holiday Inns I've stayed in. The bed was a thin mattress set, okay to sleep on for a couple of nights but nothing to write home about. Didn't see any ghosts. The walls are paper thin, really. The guy in the next room choked and snored loudly all night long and he female partner coughed and whined a lot. In the room on the other side, their relatively quiet, but private, activities kept me awake even with a pillow over my head! Also, it sounded like the sewer pipes ran directly through my room on the first floor. I heard the details of every shower and toilet flush. The location was great, just across the street from the Gettysburg National Cemetery with eats and museums next door. Closely check the cleanliness of area restaurants before ordering any food and feel free to walk out if it's nasty. The Lincoln Diner close to the square is great for breakfast! Expect the usual left wing anti-southern sentiments and distortion of historical facts in the area. Get a tour guide for the battle field and don't miss the train station across the street from the Lincoln Diner.

This hotel was very nice, clean and had a great location. It was within walking distance to everything we did other than the battlefield tour. We would stay again.

This is the second time we've stayed here and it's good. The location is phenomenal. Culp's Hill is right out the back door. It's a pet friendly place, so the rooms can smell a lot like dog. Someone cheated and smoked in the non-smoking room. When we arrived it smelled of cigarettes. Otherwise, whatever I needed, the staff got it for me. You can walk right out the front door for food and shopping, the battlefield is within walking distance, and an outlet mall is two miles away.

This is a great hotel, its location within walking distance (1/2 mile) of the Gettysburg National Cemetery and Military Park Vistors Center, as well as the shopping and restaurants along Steinwehr Avenue. Recommend for anyone looking to visit Gettysburg."
