the room was dirty ( i also found a large fingernail on the bathroom floor), the pillows looked and felt like rags stuck in a sack, the airconditioning didn't work and while i was told the room was wheelchair acc. it was not! i had to brush my teeth in the toilet cause i couldn't fit my wheelchair in the bathroom. the staff was not friendly or helpful at all. for the price it is worth it to stay at the marriot when i stayed there i had a great stay. oh yah... the lobby smelled like B.O. i will never stay in this dump again it was more like a * a night motel room.
Hotel was in central Newport, there was no need to use our car, we used the public transportation to get around. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The only thing was the day we left we got a bill for * a day for parking, when we questioned the bill we were told that it was in the information packet and that it was the cheapest parking rate in Newport.
My girlfriends and I chose this hotel since it had a great location and was much cheaper than the other area hotels. It could use some updates in the rooms, but overall we were very satisfied with our stay.
We stayed here for one night when the tall ships were in town. Got the room last minute. The price for the room was almost worth the ease of parking with all the traffic and people around. The parking lot is also closed off and guarded 24/7. This hotel is right in the middle of everything in downtown Newport. Had a great area to sit by the harbor too! The room and hotel look was good not great, but overall great place to stay. We only had one problem, our door wouldn't lock one time when we went to leave at night. They replaced the knob in about 20 minutes. Slight inconvenience, but what are ya gonna do.
The Newport Harbor Inn is well priced and centrally located. The view of the harbor is superb and local attractions are within walking distance. You can set sail on a cruise next door to the hotel. The beds are not the most comfortable and the rooms are not luxury, but they are nicely decorated and do offer anything you would require. The bathrooms have been renovated, but are not top notch either. Overall, I would return to the hotel as the location can not be beat.
If your looking for a great getaway place, the Harbor Hotel and Marina is a great place with friendly service. The hotel has a fantastic view and is in a great location to access the restaurants, bars and shops on main street and in Banisters Warf. A great overall hotel for a weekend getaway.
