We Loved it
The free breakfast buffet in the lobby was excellent, with different selections each day
We visited Memphis for 4 days and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is lovely, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the free continental breakfast is really great - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, along with the usual breads, muffins, cereals, etc., 4 coffee choices and lots of different juices. Our room was very nice and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. We both slept very well, which is unusual when away from home. The parking lot was well lit and we never saw any reason at all to be apprehensive about being out in the neighborhood at night. Very upscale neighborhood - lots of shopping and restaurants very close by. The hotel is at shady grove and poplar, and it is super easy to get downtown- turn right on poplar and it's about 15 minutes to the downtown area, turn left on 2nd street and go 3 blocks to beale - super easy to get to the action! And along the way, be sure to stop at Corky's BBQ on poplar- My husband makes some killer ribs, and these are the only ones I've ever had that would give him a run for his money! YUMMMMMMMMO! Have some banana pudding, too - your tummy will be in heaven! We had a wonderful trip and the hotel was certainly a big part of the pleasant experience!
The furnishings are fairly nice, but the AC unit was very loud, making sleep a chore. My car was broken into at the hotel, and, apparently, this is a regular occurrence at this hotel. Lots of gang activity in the area.
