Its a Shame
My wife and I stayed at the St. Anthony for the Rock & Roll Marathon weekend. Since most of the good hotels Ive stayed at before in San Antonio...
My stay at the St. Anthony was so-so. We had several issues with our room and with the ameneties. Our stay lasted three nights, and we ate free breakfast each day because of things that had gone wrong in our room. We left to start our day at 9am and when we returned at 6pm our room was still uncleaned and not stocked. The staff is amazing, I felt that everyone was interested in my personal experience and were very friendly. Although, nice people doesnt make up for the fact that the fitness center was an empty room, and the pool was empty in July.
If you are looking to escape from the big cookie cutter hotel chain experience this is the place for you. When you stay at the St. Anthony you are traveling back to time long gone. That doesn't mean old and nasty it means beautiful and nastalgic. Walking the halls you could feel the history. The rooms resembled a room from someones home in the 1940's. The rooms were nicely decorated and elegant. I wonderful change from the normal boring hotel. Its central location makes it easy to see everything in the city.
The Hotel was old and not updated, the food was bad, the service was horrible and the Management was nowhere to be found. There were different people at the front desk every time you went and asked a question.
Ok for 1 person, not for 3: no dresser, only 1 end table, 1 lamp didn't work, no counter spaceBathroom horrible:mold & mildew signs, cracked tiles & fixtures, rust spots, filthy vent, no fan, dirty tub, scratches in sink, drain works poorly, no towel bar in reachTerrible view, uncomfortable mattress, creaky bed, parking cost 10/day
Poor service, rooms smelled and were not cleaned properly at all. Not worth the money. Customer does not come first. Very disappointing.
St A had overbooked. We were sent to the Drury Inn. We only had 3 full days in San Antonio and they wanted us to wait a whole day waiting on them. We had rented a car to drive to Copperas Cove to visit our Granddaughter for the day and waiting around on the hotel was unacceptable. We stayed at the Drury at extra cost to us and much inconvenience. The St Anthony did not even apologize or try to accomadate us. We will never book a Wyndham hotel again.

small rooms, awful parking, not worth the money!
My spouse and I had planned to spend some alone time relaxing in San Antonio, unfortunately he chose this hotel for it's history, but when we arrived the rooms are so small, literally you open the door and in two step you are on the bed. The beds are not comfortable and noisy. There are no minibars and the bathrooms are so crammed that I bumped my elbow a couple of times just taking a shower. Their pool is a joke, no view whatsoever and so small. And to top it off you have to pay for parking $25 fee per night! The hotel is clean and very fancy downstairs. But I will definitely never stay here again.
