Travelocity Reviews (12 Reviews see all) Top

The location of this hotel is great, but you can get something better elsewhere. If you need service, do not choose the W Seattle. I stayed for the 4th of July weekend and waited to talk to the concierge 3 times. Each time it took 15 minutes for anyone to help us, and the response was unsatisfactory. I requested the concierge arrange a taxi for the evening. His response was "I don't think you'll be able to get a cab tonight. Are you sure you want me to call? You should probably try calling them yourself." I had already called, and failure is okay, but of course I want him to call! I had just waited 15 minutes to see if the W name would help. I cut my losses when I tried to rent bikes. After 15 minutes, I weren't even 2nd in line. Another time, I watched the concierge tell a woman that there was nowhere she could dine on the 4th. Afterwards, I pulled her aside and gave her a list of places I had found on my own. I had already called the places, and all said they were slow for the. Bear in mind that I had never been to Seattle before that weekend. Also, I did all of this research through my mobile phone because the W Seattle does not provide free WiFi. I had to hail my own cabs right outside the hotel, and on my last day, the doormen were too busy talking to one another to help when I tripped going out the door. It is difficult to reach this level of incompetence without intentional effort. These people have forgotten that they are a part of someone else's rare and hard-earned vacation. Don't give them a chance to ruin yours.

We stayed at the W for a weekend trip and loved everything about this hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze and the staff was very professional. The decor of the hotel fits right along with the feel of Seattle, and you can't beat the location and it's within walking distance to most everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were very comfortable. The beds had nice linens and pillows, not to mention a down feather bed on top of the mattress. Excellent place to stay and will stay there from now on every time I need a hotel in Seattle.

Good points: Room was clean, up to date, good view, cleaning staff was great, valet courteous. Bad points: Front desk was unprofessional with an attitude. If you need advice, they are terrible, unfriendly and the guy seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else. Valet fee 35, no wifi internet and 15/day, business room was a joke. The location is alright, we didn't realize that many other hotels were closer to where the action is. Lobby is surprisingly small, worst part: NO COFFEE MACHINE IN SUITE!! In Seattle that's just wrong.

 by  anonymous  on  2008-05-18

This was a very nice hotel. The beds were a little firm for my taste, but my friends found them comfortable. It was very clean, and the room was beautiful and relaxing. I would stay there again.

 by  anonymous  on  2008-03-29

Each night was disturbed by adjacent room noise, Could hear actual conversations through the wall, very little privacy. The 15 per day per Computer for Internet access and the 38 per day for Parking is way out of hand. Hotels need to be up front on charges and start thinking about all inclusive pricing. I would have been way better off at several other hotels in downtown Seattle.
