Loved it.
The Polynesian resort is wonderful. It is close to everything and the water park is great for kids under 10 years old. The staff was very nic...
Was not impressed. The furniture was in poor shape. Chipped paint and the mold smell was terrible. We were assigned the wrong room and given the correct room which another family just moved in and had to move out. General Manager wanted to debate why do people want monetary compensations for their blatant mistake. For the cost to stay...take the good money and stay where the room is beautiful, smells good, and the manager cares about his hotel guest.
I think you should check out the Trip Advisor website- there are many more reviews and they give you more of an idea of the hotel- not just from a couple upset guests who wanted to make the hotel look bad.
We just returned from a weeks stay at the Polynesian and had a wonderful time-it was our first time stay and will probably go back. The music they play all day in the outdoor waterpark area is really awesome-reminds one of being on a cruise ship. Very lovely hotel, nice staff, just hide your money from housekeeping because we had money taken (small amounts) twice-w/housekeeping assuming we were giving them a tip--staff was contacted and immediately our money was returned. We will go back though because overall, you can spend a whole day just ""there"" and have a great time-so much to do!
This resort needs a total staff overhaul starting with the General Manager, who I will not name. Let's just say that he is very full of himself, unwilling to effectively communicate and down right rude. The staff seemed unhappy to be there and I understood where they got their attitudes as I watched the Manager scream at front desk staff in front of guest. The rooms were clean and the water park is good for little kids, but ever basic service you won't find it here. If you are looking for a place where the staff is friendly and the management cares, don't look here.
The hotel is very noisey and water is very dirty. Kids screaming, yelling and slamming doors at 11 pm at night. Hotel service very bad. They didnt want to take care of the customers.
My friends and I had an extremely good time. Everything was set up nice and the staff were friendly.
