Grand Targhee Resort is a full service winter & summer resort on the western slope of the Teton Mountain Range, 42 miles from Jackson Hole. Three slopeside lodges offer motel, hotel, and suite style accommodations all within walking distance of the skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, heated outdoor pool & hot tub, full-service spa, dining, nightlife, and shopping. - The Sioux Lodge is an all-suite hotel; each room featuring a full private bath, kitchenette, flat screen TV, and a private balcony. - Teewinot Lodge offers premier slopeside hotel rooms with full private bath, flat screen TV, and a warm welcoming open-hearth lobby & conference room. - Targhee lodge provides clean & efficient motel rooms for travelers on a budget. Grand Targhee Resort receives over 500 inches of snow each winter over 1800 acres of lift serviced ski & snowboard terrain. An additional 600 acres of terrain are reserved exclusive for Grand Targhee Snowcat Adventures. Other winter activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow tubing. In summer, Grand Targhee Resort operates a scenic chairlift with spectacular views of Grand Teton National park, and the region's best mountain bike and hiking trails. A kaleidoscope of wildflowers blankets the mountain in July & August. The Spa at Grand Targhee offers a full range of salon and therapeutic services, including massage, facials, aromatherapy, body wraps, heated out door pool, hot tub, and an exercise room. Reservations are required.

Ended up staying at Grand Targhee in June as the accommodations were reasonable in comparison to the Jackson Hole, WY vicinity. The drive to and fro is a bit tiresome.The bedroom itself was nice sized, although it could have used a better cleaning (for example cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and marks on the wall from what I assume was ski equipment). Nice comfy comforters. The bathroom was tiny and could use updating. Flatscreen TV was a nice touch; however, very few channels and even fewer with clear reception. Lighting in the rooms was poor and hallway lighting was almost nonexistent. The room doors were light duty--could use an upgrade to a heavier door or at least heavier door locks. Elevators would also be a nice amenity to have available when lugging considerable luggage.Restaurant availability was limited in hours and fin foodstuffs (were sold out of lettuce, soup, etc.), although the service was very friendly.An 'ok' spot, but not one I would recommend paying that much for. Occupancy rate was only about 33% during our stay--very quiet--shoot for a great rate if you're considering staying in the off-winter season.
I feel like I'm in a third world country. You are an hour away from civilization, the food is horrible, the service is slower than molasses in January (seemed like no one cared about you), they lied about their activites (snowlift being open, frisbee golf, etc.), the five TV channels barely come in, you get about thirty gallons of hot water, and they wouldn't give us a battery for our fire alarm in our room in a WOODEN lodge. I wouldn't recomend this hotel unless you come in the winter and maybe it is better than in the summer.
My family and I have skied at Grand Targhee for the past 6 years. You just cannot beat the powder, the non-existent lift lines and the beauty of the Tetons! What more could you ask for!The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, we see many of the same faces year after year. Yes, the rooms are not 5 star! ! But they are always clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to seeing the newly renovated condos. The food choices are limiited, but the food is very good. Especially the all you can eat Alaskan king crab legs on Tuesday nights. My husband and I make that our date night! The resort is great for families, just give them the walkie talkies and a couple of dollars for hot chocolate and off they go! It is perfectly safe!I do hope that as the expand Targhee they will maintain the integrity of the resort and not just seek to draw in the crowds. It is a little bit of snow heaven for this Houston girl!
WE STAYED AT THE GRAND TARGHEE FOR THREE DAYS IN JULY-WE HAD SOME TERRIBLE SERVICE (SLOW)AND FOOD AT THE DINING ROOM BUT OTHERWISE)EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION) IT IS A NICE PLACE NOW-BUT THEIR PLAN IS TO ADD A BUNCH OF CONDO'S AND STUFF SO i WOULDN'T GO BACK ANYMORE BECAUSE THE PEACE AND QUIET AS WELL AS THE LANDSCAPE WILL BE GONE
