oceanfront
Condo was oceanfront but water was unswimmable -- filled with eelgrass. Beach was pebbly and needed aqua shoes in order to walk on it. Condo pool was poorly maintained. No one seemed to know if water quality was checked. regularly.

The club st. croix was, as mentioned, a quiet, quaint hotel on the beach. the one bedroom suite we had was a pleasant surprise with an awesome view of the beach and pool area. i will second the motion on the beach as reviewed by other guests: not good. as soon as you step in it's seaweed for another 200 yards out. GO TO BUCK ISLAND. thats my best advice. also check out the hotel restaurant and bar "Breezez". good food and always fun at happy hour. one word of warning though...in the hotel description it lists a "swim-up bar". not so much. i came with expectations of, well, swimming up to request my coctail. not exactly. just a shaded table situated in/on the side of the pool. we would have thought we were the only guests there. keep in mind that in the summer, the a/c is on a timer and the room is near impossible to keep cool with the extreme heat. however, the hotel is well worth the stay for your money and the room is very spacious. i would recommend you try it for yourself. i would not recommend it for parents looking for kid friendly hotels. no real activities.
THE APT WAS NICE. ONE BEDROOM WAS GOOD ,THE SECOND HAD TWO TWIN BEDS THAT WERE HORRIBLE TO SLEEP IN. POOL WAS NICE BUT THE WHOLE PLACE VERY QUIET---- HARDLY ANYONE AROUND. CABS TO DO ANYTHING , GOT EXPENSIVE AFTER AWHILE .BEACH WASN'T AS NICE AS OTHERS ON THE ISLAND. IN ALL WOULD NEVER RETURN THERE
Our 2nd trip to St. Croix and 1st to Beach and Tennis Club and very disapointed. The beach was very rough and you need to wear shoes. Do not plan on doing much swimming here. We had to go to another resort to swim. The pool was not working for the first 3 days and needed to be cleaned better.
