    Served our purpose

I usually stay at another hotel when I come to Toronto/Brampton on business, unfortunately for me, as much business as I have given the other hotel, they overbooked my specific room type (eventhough I booked it) so I checked online to look for a similar and close by hotel, which happened to be the Howard Johnson. They have now earned my business, they upgraded my room for free (to a deluxe suite), when I told them what happened, eventhough they seemed to be full. They have an absolutely amazing business centre, the kind you would expect from a 5 star 1000 room hotel, which helped me out quite a bit, the staff were off the chart when it came to going out of their way to help me when it came to directions, recommendations etc. The suite was obviously very large and Most importantly exceptionally clean. The breakfast was more than you can ask for considering the rate, and the breakfast area was awesome (like a cafe from france). Best of all was the location, very busy area, with lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance which may not be for everyone. Very impressed, still can't believe the rate I paid - look forward to coming back !!!

For the price I paid, this was the best value hotel I have stayed at. Wonderful breakfast, great staff and most importantly BIG comfortable and CLEAN rooms - a million restaurants and shops within walking distance - Will most definately be back when I am in the Toronto area again !

    Disappointed

I AM USUALLY NOT ONE FOR REVIEWS, BUT I FELT OBLIGED TO LET OTHERS KNOW ABOUT THE WONDERFUL STAY I HAD. FOR THE RATE I PAID (WHICH WAS AMAZING) I COULD NOT ASK FOR MORE, THE STAFF WERE GREAT, ALWAYS SMILING AND HELPFUL, MOST IMPORTANTLY THE ROOMS WERE HUGE SPACIOUS AND CLEAN!!!, AND THE BRERAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC (4 DIFFERENT CEREALS, BAGELS, TOAST,FRUIT, 2 TYPES OF DESSERT, USUALLY MUFFINS AND DANISH ETC) THE ONLY NEGATIVE WAS THERE WAS NO POOL WHICH I COULD LIVE WITHOUT. OVERALL AN AMAZING STAY, SOMETHING YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A 4 STAR HOTEL. LOCATION LEAVES IT COMPLETELY POSSIBLE TO STAY THERE AND NOT HAVE A CAR AS EVERYTHING IS ON THE DOOR STEP. WILL MOST DEFINATELY BE BACK !!!

    AMAZING HOJO

My husband and I went to see a show at the Rose theatre, didnt feel like driving home at night, so we stayed at the Howard Johnson which is basically right next door to the theatre. I was so happy with the service and value I felt I should sya something. Rooms were no different than a 5 star hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. For the rate we paid, we did not expect much, but we were treated as if we stayed at the Ritz. Would recommend to anyone, will definately be back anytime we are in the area for a show or anything else. Good for you Hojo !

I really enjoyed the spacy new modern rooms, staff were really helpful and friendly, and the best was the price, by far the best value in toronto/brampton.

    Hojo was great!

    Disappointed

Had a very pleasant stay, rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff was nice, especially housekeepers. They have a hot waffle breakfast which was great and the business centre is top notch, my only issue was I wish the fitness centre had free wieghts, it only has a few machines. For the rate I paid, could not have asked for more, will stay there again forsure.

    Great Comfy stay

Just like the title, if you're on student budget and when push comes to shove, it's alright. I read other reviews and it seems like a nightmare. My experience was alright... nothing to complain. Just a bed and shower and I'm fine!

It seemed as if there were many people at breakfast time, but there was always enough food. They advertised a hot breakfast. There was only cold cereal, bagels, doughnuts and bread. The orange juice was warm and the coffee was lukewarm. However, the staff was really friendly and sent us to three good restaurants within walking distance. We asked for decaf coffee and the night attendant chased some down for us, so we could make coffee in our room. The rooms were large and clean and ours had a couch and chairs. The maids were friendly and co-operative.

I am upset because they didn't replace the shampo, and in morning when I request for it by phone, front desk said me I needed to go down for it. It should be a housekeeping service!!!

We stayed two nights, The hotel rooms air conditioning, beds, and service were just fine. Continental breakfast was low budget and they ran out of most food very early. The only bad thing is that the carpet had a smell as soon as you walk out of the elevator it hits you. The staff was very helpful.

We stayed two nights based on the price & the avg traveler rating at the time of 4 stars. The hotel rooms (we had two), air conditioning, beds, and service were just fine. The free continental breakfast was very weak though - very low budget. They had some bread, bagels, muffins, (very little) fruit, and some artificial fruit drink. But no milk, orange juice, or cereal. Worst part was they ran out of most food very early. Hotel was not in best area of town either, but OK. Overall, I think 3 stars or a bit less is a more accurate rating.

    Great Comfy stay

Travelocity   by  anonymous  on  Jan 2, 2008

I was dissappointed by this hotel. The parking lot was not cleaned-and the first start to my trip was falling on the slippery ice. I was black and blue for the entire week. Room service was not not friendly or customer-oriented. They cleaned on their schedule and were not flexible. The front desk personnel was okay.On New year's eve night- some new customers came to my floor-about 20 teenagers booked into 2 rooms to celebrate the new year. There was screaming, drinking and banging on the walls till morning. I could not sleep. These celebrants should have been put on separate floor. All in all I won't stay there again.
