I enjoyed the trip so much and really formed a bond with the staff, would go back definitely.
we were very ""on edge"" about the resort after reading the reviews. no need, we had a great time and really enjoyed everything from the room to the beach. yes there are rocks, but the experience and feel of the people and resort was just plain great.

NOT A BORING PLACE IF YOU LIKE THE NOISE, I LIKE FUN AND LIKE TO HEAR MUSIC AND DANCE. THE STAGE SHOW IS EXCELLENT DIFFERENT EVERY DAY, FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND SERVICE IN THE DINING ROOM WAS EXCELLENT. HOWEVER ROOM SERVICE WAS SLOW. BATHROOM NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED. PEOPLE WAS VERY NICE. IF YOU LEAVE HOTEL AREA GO WITH SOMEONE WHO LIVES THERE. WAS LUCKY AT THE CASINO BUT IT WAS NOT PART OF HOTEL. 3 COMPLAINTS NO ATM MACHINE AT THE HOTEL AND BEACH NEEDED TO BE CLEANER TO SWIM (REMOVE THE WEED) ALSO POOL IS BEAUTIFUL BUT TOO COLD TO SWIM IN( POOL NEEDS HEATER) ESPECIALLY IN THE HOT TUB. DO NOT MIND THE NATIVES IN THE WEEKENDS IT MADE THE PLACE MORE FUN. THE PHRASE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR IS EXACTLY. HAD A WONDERFUL 12 DAYS STAY AND WILL RETURN.

you got to go and experience this hotel for yourself, i was in a litle dout but i took the chance... i enjoy my stay and all the good things this beought to me and my friend, love the place and the people, if you like to make friends the best place is here, the food is great the pool is nice, the staff is friendly and they always try to make your stay as confortable as possible.

we freak out at first because on saturdays they get a lot of locals for overnight but once they leave on sunday you will have a great time the staff is very friendly and helpfull, pool is great, ocean very good and for the price you can not complain it turn out to be very nice. if you give the maid a small tip she will keep your room spotless and you will have clean towels every day.

Every night there is entertainment till 11P.M.--Make sure your room is away from out door stage--its loud---we mover our room--staff friendly---yes you can eat and drimk all you want---Christmass selections included lobster----
This place was awesome! My friend & I are already planning our return trip to the same hotel! The staff was great (they have ppl. whose job is to get u involved in all the activities...like the kids in Dirty Dancing). The grounds are gorgeous (flamingos, fountains, lots of flowers, beautiful pools & a pretty beach to snorkel for free in), and for the low price, you can't beat it. One word of caution... don't use any other tour company EXCEPT Prieto Tours, we had a really bad experience when we we used another company. Overall, awesome trip, especially for the price!
Great time at the Barcelo Talanquera in Juan Dolio. Food ok, room ok, beach needs improvement, too rocky.

In general was a good experience. The food will get 4 points, the people 5 that serve, the guest are European, very serious, maybe the language. The furniture needs improve. No noise, good. Good vigilance. I will give a general 4.

Weekends brought heavy crowds of local guests which overloaded the facility. Sunday evening and on....okay. So, avoid the weekends.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY. I WENT WITH MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER 1YR OLD AT THE TIME. OUR ROOMS WERE CLEAN, JUST ALOT OF MOSQUITOS. I REALLY HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. WE ENJOYED THE FOOD ALOT, THE SERVICE IS GREAT. WE HAD ALOT OF FUN BY THE WATER. EVEN PARTIED AT THE OUTSIDE CLUB. THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS HILARIOUS AND ENJOYABLE.

Hotel experience
under *per night for an all inclusive resort, seemed to good to be true, and it was. The rooms, were old, the bathroom was old, and there was mold around the shower. the screen had holes, so the insects had a feast on me. The beach chairs were nice, however the beach itself as impossible to swim in, three or four steps into the water it was so rocky, it was not even worth the bother and could really hurt your feet. On the weekend the pool was packed with children. The food, was not good, and the quality of the meat was not good.

Also, from Friday to Sunday, the entire resort is crowded with locals. They are friendly and all, but it makes you feel as if you aren't on vacation. The beach was beautiful, but the vendors, which won't leave you alone if you don't buy from them, are annoying. The pool is night and the entertainment sucks after the 2nd night becuase once again, its the same thing every night. The best part was the nice clear beach.

remember that you get what you pay for, for the price it is ok, but nothing special, and yes it is true on the weekeds they do fill it up with loacal people. and they do trash the place, and yes the same food at every meal.

STAFF IS RUDE AND UNHELPFUL EVEN IF YOU SPEAK SPANISH, FOOD IS BAD:SELECTION AND QUALITY, ROOMS ARE MOLDY AND UNSECURE (JUST PUSH AND THEY OPEN), ADVERTISES JACUZZI- IF YOU ONLY LIKE COLD WATER! BEACH IS WEEDY AND ROCKY, POOL IS OK. NO ATM ON SITE, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME NOR MONEY! WILL NEVER GO BACK! I HOPE YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE BECAUSE I AM SAYING IT THE WAY IT REALLY IS!

The management of this hotel has made so many cut backs that they cannot function as promised. had to beg the maids to make up the room she never filled the mini bar 9 2cokes and 2 waters we where told that we could only have one, the food was very poor and the same every day,the return taxi that was prepaid nevershowed up and the staff would not call for us, had to pay to use the capella to see how a dominican hotel is supposed to be, ate out every night, beach o.k. but dirty all in all very disapointed.

I will never visit talaquera hotel. The food is the same everyday. they don't have snack bar. there is a lot of mosquitos. The night show is the same every night.

we stayed there feb 20 /07the hotel is worth the price but it does need workthe biggest draw back is the tours they are a scam.and the beach vendors wont leave you alonethe area is very trashed,dont leave the resort you will be okay.watch out for the tour guides in the hotel ,they are not to be trusted.they will lie to you about what to excpect.we will never return to d.r. it will be worth more money to go to a clean honest place.even the hotel taxi rental was a joke ,they where an hour late and just dident care.

Bad crowd of people (they get hundreds of locals for no money), no maintenance (poor water, phone damage, room door gets locked). Just horrible!
