Otsu Prince

Excellent choice if you would like to visit Kyoto without having to deal with the over crowded city at night. A little more expensive but the location is beautiful overlooking the lake with the mountains on the horizon. Every room faces the lake and the dining in the resturaunt is top notch if you do not feel like waiting for a table in the city during peak tourist season.
