A little expensive, but the whole island is. The location & the services were worth it

GREAT HOTEL ALL THE WAY AROUND

When booking my room, I booked an oceanview room and received an island view room and the staff would not change it even though they had room available. Other than that it is a great place to stay on the island.

GREAT HOTEL ALL THE WAY AROUND

In our opinion, the Westin was the best facility to stay at on 7 mile beach compared to (1) Ritz which has their guests stay across the busy street from the beach (2) Hyatt was under construction. Didn't see the Marriott but the Westin was definitely a fresh, clean facility that one could feel good about coming back to or just staying out in the beach. There was many choices to eat (in the hotel) or across the street at "Eats" (good value) or one of their sister restaurants (like Yoshi or the Lounge). Wesitn was also great for exchange - no fee and 0.80 Cayman for 1 USD vs. other locations at lesss for the buck. When the season was not too busy (August) they upgraded us to an Ocean view which was nice in the morning when you opened the curtains or soothing as the sun set... the staff was also helpful in directing us to sights, activities and how to get around the island (yes, we even tried the bus system). We'd definitely come back; we definitely had an environment that we could unwind in and get re-energized!!

    best vacation ever

Our stay at Westin Casuarina in June was simply great. The hotel's beach and pool area are beautiful beyond belief. The hotel has a 4star restaurant on premises with tables facing onto the beach. It's a great place to enjoy a sunset dinner. The serice is impecable and friendly. Lobby bar area has a variety of enjoyable entertains -- light jazz, classical violin, and Caribbean music. Rooms were first class, as expected from a Westin. Truly a great hotel.

I will say that Grand Cayman is my favorite place in the Caribbean. It is clean and the people are friendly - and this hotel is one of the besy I have ever stayed at! Comfortable beds, clean public areas, great pool. white sandy beach - we book at Westin hotels as much as possible!

Without a doubt, I would stay at this Westin again. The service is outstanding - from the bellboy - to the concierge- to the front desk - to the maid service. I cannot say enough about the people at Westin Casuarina. They are the ones that made our trip so wonderful.

We decided to visit Grand Cayman and after much deliberation decided on staying at the Westin. It was fabulous. We booked an ocean view room and were on the fourth floor overlooking the pool. We liked the room but wanted a view without the pool, so the front desk showed us several rooms and moved us on our third day. There is great snorkeling right off the hotel beach (go outside the swimming area out to the outer bouys). Also great for snorkeling is Cemetery Beach and Smith Cove. Rent a car and explore the island.

With out a doubt the most beautiful place my family has ever been. The sunset was breath taking from our lounge chairs. The beach sand was soft & white and the water was clear & turquoise blue. Swim up bar in the pool is a great time. Drinks were cold and the weather was hot. Snorkeled a reef along the hotel beach. Rooms are clean and have great views. Staff was always curtious and helpful. Downside was the pricetag (but worth every penny). They need night time activities and day time music (minor problems).

From the heavenly beds to the heavenly pool, this hotel is the best choice for a Grand Cayman vacation. The amenities seperates it from its competitors.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Westin 2/4/08-2/9/08 for a romantic week away from NY in winter. The weather in Grand Cayman at this time of year was 84 degrees every day but it also rained every single day for a short while. The rain ranges from light sprinkle to complete downpour, but like, I said, it doesn't last long. The staff at the Westin were always smiling and said hello when we passed them. Our first room smelled so strongly of mold and mildew that it was impossible to sleep in there even after leaving the balcony door open all day to try to air it out so we called the front desk and they gave us a different room but did not upgrade us as is customary at most hotels when there is a problem. It truly was an inconvenience to have to pack up and move all of our belongings, but oh well. The Restaurants are both very good. Casa Havana is excellant but pricey and Ferdinands was also very good and cheaper. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet at Ferdinand's for 15. My boyfriend and I love Ritz Carlton hotels so we couldn't resist walking down the street to check it out and it is beautiful! We decided that if we ever come back we will definitely stay there next time. We ate the their restaurant Blue and I did not like it as much as Casa Havana and the check came to 350US for 2 of us and that's with a 50 bottle of wine! There were very few children at the Westin which I loved!

We decided about 2 weeks earlier to fly to Grand Cayman and stay at the Westin. It wasn't the cheapest or most expensive hotel on 7-mile beach but a great value! The location can't be beat - you step off the elevator, walk by the pool, and the glorious clear blue water laps at your toes. Beautiful!!! Since we went in off season, the hotel had an occupancy rate of 11% the bartender told us so we had the place to ourselves. Normally this would have bothered us since we prefer a lively atmosphere but it was perfect for a romantic trip. At night we would walk down the beach to other hotels/restaurants for food/nightlife and then return to our quiet haven at the end of the night by moonlight - that is something you cannot do at home. We had a 5th floor (top) oceanfront balcony room and that was key!!! In the morning, you would open the curtains and door and remind yourself that you were really in this paradise. The view of the water (over the Casuarina trees) was amazing!! And we enjoyed our drinks on our little balcony as we watched the sunset (7-mile beach is on the west side of the island). INCREDIBLE!!! Though not the best and most glamorous of 7-mile beach hotels, it certainly met our expectations and we would stay there again.

We've stayed here twice but will probably book at the Ritz for this year's diving trip. The food could use a little improvement but overall we were happy with the regular restaurant. The ""fine"" dining restaurant required that I wore something other than flip-flop style high-heels; they were a higher fashion type and I was also wearing a dress, but the people were staunch about their regulations. Big disappointment. We never got to try the fine dining so I can't comment on that food. We ventured out to the local businesses instead who were happy to take our vacation cash.
