San Diego Beach Vacations

Explore Beach Vacations in San Diego

Unless you need SPF 80 sunscreen, you’ll likely be spending the majority of your San Diego vacation exploring the city’s pristine beaches. With more than 30 beaches to choose from, you can find your own little slice of paradise.

Families vacationing with small children will love exploring Mission Bay Park. Even though the water is not recommending for swimming, several playgrounds, picnic benches, a bike path and a variety of other activities will surely wear out even the most rambunctious youngsters.

Older children will appreciate the crowds and commotion at popular spots such as Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and Ocean Beach. Pretend you’re Hollywood royalty at Coronado Beach, where you will find the lovely Hotel del Coronado, made famous in Marilyn Monroe’s Some Like it Hot.

If it’s you’re first time to the Pacific Ocean, you may want to try your skills at the local pastime: surfing. There are numerous surf schools throughout the area, so grab a board and do as the locals do. Sailing, hiking and biking are a few of the other sports San Diegans enjoy in their active lifestyles. Traveling with man’s best friend? Ocean Beach’s Dog Beach is a leash-free zone, perfect for Spot to roam and meet some new buddies.
