Explore Hiking in Seattle
Hiking is one of the most popular outdoor activities in Seattle. Situated between the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, with majestic Mt. Rainier as its skyline focal point, Seattle offers a multitude of hiking and mountaineering opportunities. Get hiking tips and suggestions at the Washington Trails Association, which also offers trail work parties. Don’t have time to journey out of Seattle? There’s plenty of urban hiking, too. Interlaken Park on the north end of Capitol Hill is a densely wooded 50-acre park with a paved path and dozens of dirt trails; walk from Interlaken down to the 230-acre Washington Park Arboretum, which offers more hiking trails in a gorgeous natural setting.
